Come join us for a FREE iftar TODAY in Union room 3209. Come out for some free food, and to meet other MSA members!

2.Weekly Meeting and Iftar> Wednesday, September 1st @ 6:30 pm> Union 3209
We have our second meeting of the year this Wednesday at 6:30 pm and yet another FREE iftar in Union Room 3209. Be sure to come out!

3. Thursday Free Iftar > Thursday, September 2nd @ 7 pm> Union 3205
We will be having yet another free Iftar in Union Room 3205 at 7 pm. Come out and enjoy!

4. Daily Prayer Room > Monday- Friday> 12pm-5> Student Union Room 3205
A Daily Prayer Room will be available every Monday-Friday (beginning Tuesday, Aug. 24th) from 12pm-5pm in Union Room 3205. If the door is ever closed, just visit the front desk and ask them to open it.

5. Jummah Prayer > Fridays at 1:15 p.m. > the Chapel at UNC Hospitals
Jummah Prayer is held every Friday at 1:15 pm, in the Chapel at UNC Hospital.

6. Taraweeh Room> 9-10pm> Union 3203
We will have a Taraweeh room available Monday-Sunday throughout Ramadan in Union Room 3203 (unless otherwise noted). The room is open and available for all to use, Insha'Allah.

7. Fast a Thon> Wed, Sept. 8th @ 7pm> Great Hall
Our Annual Fast a Thon will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8th at 7pm in the Great Hall, Insha'Allah. This year, all proceeds are going towards the Flood Relief in Pakistan.To sign-up or donate, visit here. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Nawsheen Khan.

8. Triangle MSA Iftar (Firas Sheikh Memorial Iftar)> Friday, Sept. 3rd @ 7pm> NCSU McKimmon Center
Our Annual Triangle MSA Iftar will be held at NC State this year on Friday, Sept. 3rd. Proceeds from the event are going towards a scholarship fund for Al-Iman school in memory of Firas Sheikh, a member of the Raleigh community who passed away a few years ago. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at any MSA event. We will also be providing rides for those who need it- if you need a ride, please RSVP to Tamoore Arshad.

9. Freshmen Elections > Application due Wednesday, September 1st @ 5 pm
If you would like to be considered for a position as the Freshmen Representative for 2010-2011, fill out the attached application form by 5 pm on Wednesday, September 1st!

10. MSA Dues> Saturday, Aug. 28th @ 11pm> Islamic Association of Raleigh

1. Volunteer for Hillel Food Kitchen > Deadline: Aug. 27th
Volunteer with Hillel at IFC Food Pantry! Sign up from for shifts on Tuesdays at 4-5:30 pm, Tuesdays at 5:30-7 pm, or Wednesdays at 4-5:30 pm. If interested, contact Dana DePietro at danajdepietro@gmail.com.

2. Coat Hangers Needed for Project Connect
Project Connect, an organization that works with the homeless, needs extra coat hangers. If you have any extra hangers that you would like to donate to this drive, please bring them to the MSA meeting or Iftars this week!

3. Med Deli Pakistani Flood Relief Fundraiser
On Tuesday, August 31st, Med Deli will be hosting a fundraiser for the victims of the Pakistani flood. All proceeds from that day will be donated to the cause. Be sure to take a trip there! Also, if you're interested in volunteering at the event, please contact Tehseen Thaver.

4. Pakistan Flood Relief Dinner at NC State> Saturday October 2nd @ 6:30 PM
NC State will be hosting a dinner on Saturday, October 2nd from 6:30-10 pm to raise money for the flood tragedy in Pakistan. The event will feature live entertainment and dinner. Tickets will be pre-sold for $20 per person and $60 for a family of four ($5 for each additional family member). All proceeds will go to Pakistan relief efforts. Contact Omar M.
