Student Members

Student members are our active community who define who we are as an organization. As a member, you volunteer, participate, and take part in the organization. Below are some committees in which you can be involved as a student member. If you have other ideas or initiatives for the MSA, reach out to shurah@uncmsa.org!

Please pay the annual $15 member dues to support our organizational costs and grow the MSA!

Ramadan Committee - in progress

Mission: The Ramadan Committee works to plan and organize an amazing Ramadan experience for UNC MSA members and the broader Carolina community.

Initiatives:

  • Ramadan Community Iftars: providing free meals to the MSA members as they break their fasts together. Ramadan Committee works to find sponsors and funds for the iftars, partners with other organizations, and arranges the space and food. We aim to provide iftars every day during Ramadan.

  • Teraweeh: hosting the long and special teraweeh prayer every day during Ramadan. The Ramadan Committee arranges who will lead the prayers, the room and logistics.

  • Monday/Thursday Iftars: Ramadan is only one month of the year but its spirit continues throughout. Therefore, Ramadan Committee arranges iftars throughout the year for Monday/Thursday sunnah fasting.
